Cosmic Dance performing for unveiling of Amitabh Bachchan’ wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong.

It was a lot of fun and great pleasure to perform for the unveiling of Amitabh Bachan’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds. He is the first among Indian Actors to be exhibited at the Tussauds museum in Hong Kong and hopefully will start and new trend.
And I never imagined him being so tall!
Moses Chan (an award-winning actor from Hong Kong ) was the star guest of the event and seamed like a very nice person – not afraid to try Indian Dance moves
which was cheered by the crowd of his fans.

My new website: www.cosmic-dance.com
The time has come, when I decided to have a separate (more official looking) site to showcase and promote not only my work but work of all dancers and and all performances of Cosmic Dance group.
So, I might use this blog for its original purpose and actually try blogging on a regular bases, not only posting from time to time
. There are so many things I would like to write and discuss and being away from India and all my dance friends for so long makes me want to share thoughts with the world.
The new site was designed by my own very best dad all the content would not be possible without my friends and much loved students and finally the beautiful photo on the home page was taken by a very talented photographer Michelle Garthe.
As you can see, my work is very personal to me and very close to my heart because of all the people’s help and encouragement.
Bye for now, and see you here or at www.cosmic-dance.com

We All Are Cosmic Dancers
20th of May, 2010 at the Fringe Theater, HK
Produced by Oxana Banshikova, artistic director of Cosmic Dance.
Our creative adventure exploring Bharatanatyam Indian Classical dance in its purest ancient form and popular modern fusion style.
The best choreographies by Cosmic Dance group who have been performing for the past two years in Hong Kong.
Featuring students of Cosmic Dance and professional dancers; all sharing passion and love for Indian Classical Dance.
Event was a once again success and hours of hard practice and sleepless nights brought our group closer together. The biggest challenge of the night was the frequent costume changes. For some up to 4 times during this show and within 5 minutes. Parts of costumes and jewelry were getting missing in the rush but everyone did a great job and everyone was dressed and ready to dance in time. That was a great experience that made us stronger.
Maggie Blue O’Hara for your beautiful voice and presence.
Jamie Wu for the light and music
Talented and hard working dancers:
Deepa Natarajan
Iris Li
Joan Chan
Malin Oskarsson
Pearl Sze
Po Ying Chan

Welcome to Bharat Natyam Indian Classical Dance

Even though the main goal of this site is to promote Indian dance, Bharatnatyam in particular, I would like to mention that any type of dance form or artistic physical movement in general is of a huge interest to me. Dance is the easiest and universal form of expression that should not have political, religious, racial and geographical borders, or even should not be the privilege only for the people with perfect physical abilities.
Dance can make people happy and should be available to everyone!
On this site you will find some theory and history of Bharatnatyam, my ideas and experience in dance, upcoming and recent events and photos/videos of the performances.
Read more about me and my ideas here.
