All Theatre Art Association and Oxana Productions Co-Presented:

The Journey of the Lotus

A celebration of spring exploring the inner search for happiness and enlightenment

The show is aimed to  awaken your senses with a sensual and sacred evening of Classical Indian Dance, Contemporary Dance, Live Music and Poetry by the Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore .

“I knew not then that it was so near, that it was mine, and that this perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.”-Tagore

Maggie Blue O’Hara (Canada) Co-Artistic Director of All Theatre Art Association and Oxana Banshikova (Kazakhstan) Performer/ Choreographer/ Teacher of Bharat Natyam, Classical Indian Dance fused their dance styles from the West and the East and co-created a magical night of performances inspired by the poetry of Tagore.  The dancers represent The Past, Present and The Future and the choreography weaves them together to finally complete the spiritual quest…realizing that the present moment is the gift.

Even though the main goal of this site is to promote Indian dance, Bharatnatyam in particular, I would like to mention that any type of dance form or artistic physical movement in general is of a huge interest to me. Dance is the easiest  and universal form of expression that should not have political, religious, racial and geographical borders, or even should not be the privilege  only for the people with perfect physical abilities.

Dance can make people happy and should be available to everyone!

On this site you will find some theory and history of Bharatnatyam, my ideas and experience in dance, upcoming and recent events and photos/videos of the performances.
